Cosmetic lasers are a new way to remove stretch marks. Unlike traditional treatments like stretch mark creams and gels, lasers are used to stimulate new collagen growth and fill in stretch marks. The laser energy is absorbed by the dermis layer of the skin and stimulates the production of new collagen. Cosmetic laser treatments for stretch marks stimulate depleted collagen to grow back. It removes damaged skin tissue, closes broken blood vessels, and repairs the fibers of the intermediate skin which this treatment helps to “fill in” stretch marks.
Results are observed within 3 weeks, and they may vary among individuals. Usually, two to three treatments are required for maximum benefit.
